Followmont Transport is a major privately owned Queensland company providing a transport & logistics service throughout Queensland and the northern coastal region of New South Wales. It was established in 1983; a result of a vision of the two men who own the company: Alan Salpietro and Bernie Tobin. Collectively, they have over 55 years of general transport experience; including 25 years expertise in the packaging and distribution of newspapers, magazines and other printed matter.

These gentlemen recognised that there was a niche for a quality "time-critical" transport operator, especially mindful of the urgent delivery requirements demanded by the printed media industry. This sense of urgency has been incorporated into our general freight service. Our company has grown from a two-man, one vehicle operation to a company employing over 300 people, supported by over 100 agents and sub-contractors throughout Queensland.

Our History

Followmont Transport Pty Ltd was established in 1983 as a result of the vision of two men - Alan Salpietro and Bernard Tobin. Collectively, they have over 50 years of transport experience including over 25 years experience in the distribution/packaging of newspapers, brochures, magazines and other printed media.

They quickly established a niche market; mainly due to their appreciation of the urgency associated with operations pertaining to the advertising agencies, print media and the ensuing repercussions to the end-user/distributor with respect to their accountability regarding deadlines.

At Followmont, we have incorporated this sense of urgency into our general freight service to provide a unique operation in which our awareness of time-conscious products is the strong foundation upon which our reputation is enhanced.

 

Our Fleet

Our modern fleet consists of over 200 vehicles, ranging from B-Double prime movers, Tautliner trailers, Rigids (4-Tonnes, 6 Tonnes, 8 Tonnes and 10 Tonnes), vans and utility vehicles.

 

Our People

We’re small enough to give personalised attention, as our management structure allows direct liaison with the appropriate decision maker. Our people are experienced, competent, pro-active and friendly. We recognise that our staff are quite often the intermediary between our customers and their respective customers. Followmont Transport people welcome the opportunity to ensure total customer satisfaction, by providing excellent “value for money” transport solutions to ensure that we exceed expectations.
