TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

At Followmont Transport, we have made a heavy investment in technology in recent years, and now boast a freight management system second to none. Omnix Transport Solutions, a Brisbane based software supplier, have provided us with a customised system that allows seamless communication of data to and from our customers.

Included in this system are data downloading, Internet POD viewing, mobile data transmission, on-line account reconciliation, electronic delivery of statements and account information, provision of vital K.P.I. statistical data and many other exciting features, all within our fully integrated website.

We have our own server dedicated to the processing of data, as well as an e-commerce server designed to allow rapid access for our customers. To protect our information, and that of our customers, we have installed a firewall server with the latest software. We work with Priority One Solutions, a Brisbane based security and network consultancy, to ensure that the security of our network is never compromised.

We are currently introducing GPRS enabled mobile data units in Brisbane, and envisage implementing these into our major regional network in the near future. These will provide "real time" viewing of information in relation to consignments.

POD's are currently scanned on a daily basis in the major centres, and are then available over the Internet for viewing via a secure log-in. These are retained for 6 months, and are then saved to Compact Disc.

In areas where the GPRS mobile data units are not used we will continue to provide scanned POD's via the Internet.
