In many ways, Followmont has become the lifeblood of regional Queensland.

Community Initiatives

Supporting Regional Queensland’s Sick Kids

CQ Convoy is a fundraising committee formed in 2014 to support regional Queensland’s sick children. With Followmont’s backing, the committee will raise money for paediatric units in regional hospitals to purchase items not covered by the government. The aim is to provide home comforts to make staying in hospital easier for children and families.

Transporting Toys to Indigenous Communities

Earlier this year, on behalf of the Redcliffe and District Woodcraft Society Followmont arranged the transport of children’s toys to Indigenous communities across Queensland, as far as Doomadgee. The toys made are distributed to outlying regions for sick and underprivileged children. This was all about doing our part to help the community and put a smile on these kids faces. Followmont absorbed all costs involved in this process and to show appreciation, the Woodcraft Society donated a beautifully sculpted timber gift to Followmont which is now displayed at Head Office.
