Followmont’s strategy has always been to focus on our task at hand and getting the job done rather than the actions of our competitors. However, we must be mindful of the external influences and the industry activities as we go about being the best in our field.
Followmont Transport is currently experiencing between 5 – 7% growth while other transport businesses including some major players are currently having to make huge redundancies.
Toll Australia was reported yesterday in The Age newspaper as being “expected to bear the brunt of a large job-cutting drive, starting with 200 layoffs to be announced this week” (see link below for full article).
Followmont maintains a focus that our people are our biggest asset. We invest in our leadership to ensure that we strive for excellence through ownership, empowerment, engagement and accountability. ‘True leaders don’t create followers, they create more leaders’.
We invest in our people not only through development and self-worth but through ensuring that every person is paid above award rates. This is a commitment that we made to our people!
Followmont continues to build a strong foundation for long term succession. We continue to look to strategic opportunities including varying revenue streams.
Through solid relations between our sales and operations teams we are focused on our customers, ensuring that our service to our existing clients is upheld; as well as on-boarding new clients with a positive experience.
We also continue to invest in our assets through the addition of new fleet and a new roller system that is due to be implemented in the coming months. We also look forward to a system implementation to support our processes and the task at hand!
I can’t say that we’re not feeling the downturn of the industry, however we have good people with passion who go the extra mile to deliver. We have some exciting projects in 2017 that will assist us in being the best!
I look forward to the year ahead and working with you all towards a bright future!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
